The project lifecycle
Our clients recognize the excellence we bring to project management. Our approach is responsive, reliable and flexible and represents real added-value in the translation process.
How is a project carried out by Version internationale?
The process will vary according to the technical and other constraints specific to each project, but here are the key stages of a standard project:

Request
The project manager receives a translation request (each client is managed by a dedicated project manager who understands their needs precisely and can tailor resources accordingly).
After assessing the feasibility of the project, i.e. considering the various constraints (deadlines, volume, technical specialization, language pair, etc.), the project manager prepares a price quote including any recommendations and sends it to the client.
Production
Once the quote is accepted, the project is launched. The project manager evaluates the necessary workload and schedules the translation process by placing the documents with the most suitable translators. The files are analyzed and then sent to the translators with any specific instructions to be respected (deadline, staggered delivery times when necessary, software to be used, instructions and glossaries to follow, etc.). When the translators have completed the translation, the project manager sends on the translated files to the reviewer who is responsible for validating and ensuring consistency between the various translations.
While the translators are working on the files, they may send in questions; these are answered by the project manager or the editor. If they are unable to respond, the project manager will put the questions to the client and return the answers to the linguists concerned. The project manager oversees the project throughout to ensure the deadlines and special instructions are respected.
When the translation has been thoroughly edited, the project manager will arrange a rapid proofreading of the target text only to avoid any potential typos or formatting errors.
Verification
If the translation is provided in a special format such as InDesign, QuarkXpress or other, the page layout of the files will be adapted accordingly. This is because for certain languages a translated text can be considerably longer than its source version. Our specialists rearrange the text on the page so that all the elements are clearly visible and harmoniously presented. To complete the process, the project manager makes final checks and prepares the delivery after ensuring that all the elements required by the client comply with the specifications.
Archiving
Lastly, once the project has been delivered, the project is archived and kept for a period of two years in case the client should ever request another copy.
